Player’s Expectations and Rules:
- Every member of the team should recognize it is a PRIVILEGE to represent the LIONS and should act accordingly.
- Players report directly to your coaches. You represent your family and the Linn-Mar school district name in the community. You agree to represent them with pride and the highest form of respect in our community.
- No Lions player involved in our 7U – 14U age groups are allowed to play on any other teams during the Lions Season unless permission is obtained from your team’s head coach.
- Players are not allowed to argue with or disrespect coaches, parents or umpires for any reason.
- Foul language and profanity are not tolerated at any time.
- Good sportsmanship is a quality that is exemplified by our players. Taunting of your own, as well as opposing players, fans or umpires, will not be tolerated.
- Self-indulgence by players, such as pouting, tossing helmets or bats will not be tolerated.
- Each player is responsible for the care of the equipment. Hats are to be worn forwards and undershirts and jerseys are to be tucked in pants at all times. At practice we expect you to wear baseball pants, a hat, and cleats at all times.
- Practices are not optional. School and church functions should always come first and are excused. All other absences require notifying your coach in advance via whichever method they prefer.
- Give 100% effort 100% of the time.
- Cleaning of field and dugout after each use is required.
- No jewelry. Unless worn for medical or religious purposes and taped down.
Enforcement of Rules:
- The rules and expectations listed herein are in place to ensure the quality development of our teams while maintaining the integrity of our organization. Any players in violation of these rules will be handled in the following manner.
- A formal written warning will be issued and documented.
- A suspension from attending games or tournaments. The suspension can be one game up to a max of 4.
- Possible expulsion from the Lions Organization.
The organization has the right to bypass the above process and administer any such disciplinary action depending upon the severity of the violation.
